USET enrolls 57 students for class of 2023 academic year
The University of Applied Science Engineering and Technology (USET), formally called the Gambia Technical Training Institute (GTTI) on Thursday enrolled 57 students at its third series of general students’ orientation and matriculation for class 2023 college of engineering students. The occasion wasin quest by significantly promoting and fulfilling the University culture and initiating newly admitted students.
The students were sponsored by the Ministry of Higher Education which covers through certificates to degree levelthroughout the four years.
The occasion held at its campus, USET Registrar, AlieuBadaraSaine notes that it was a remarkable event in the history of transformation of the institution. He encouraged the new enrolled to take their education with utmost responsibilities and dedication.
He advanced that the University takes zero tolerance for any form of harassment, particularly sexual harassment. He noted that their main agenda is to push the relevance of higher and technical education for the country.
Ebrima Cham, the Chairman of the USET Governing Council stated that he looked forward to have all students succeed at the end of the four years of studies in their various areas. He said the occasion serves as a great time to join the USET.
He said that the country is in sort of engineers which it is in need of, to work in the different sectors. He noted that the Gambia government is making a heavy investment into the school. He thanked President AdamaBarrow for the investment into USET.
“Currently as we speak, the construction of the new USET campus at Brikama is in progress,” he revealed with the hope that in months’ time, the construction would be ready for students to go into the new campus.

He thanked President Barrow and his government for the huge investment into the educational sector and making USET his interest in the Science, Engineering and technology in the Gambia.
He further applauded Minister of Higher Education, Professor Pierre Gomez for his support to USET.
He stated that as students of USET, their primary goal is to learn hard in their different disciplines they would be graduating in, adding that it would be an opportunity for the students to meet new friends and learn new skills.
He thanked the management and staff of USET for the hard work in upgrading the standards of the University as they want it to be a school of excellence in Africa.
