Trust Bank Adopts A Family House, Presents $10, 000 To SOS Children’s Village
Trust Bank on Thursday presented a cheque of $10, 000 dollars to the SOS Children’s Village at Bakoteh. The amount was geared towards the maintenance of one of the family houses in the village, with equal adoption of the said house by theBank.
Speaking at a ceremony held at the Village in Bakoteh, Mr. Jean-Pierre Kouamin, SOS Children’s Village National Director thanked Trust Bank for the valuable gesture in supporting the most vulnerable people.
He added that they were looking forward to having more partners to what they are dong in the country.
He said that they have different programs working in the Greater Banjul and across the nation, where they are working on project in preventing family separations in communities called “family strengthening program.”
In her remarks, Trust Bank Managing Director, Njilan Senghore said the occasion marked a significant milestone in their efforts to give back to society by making difference in the lives of those who need their support most.
The occasion she said came prior to their fruitful collaboration which culminated in the signing of a memorandum of understanding for the adoption and sponsorship of one of the family houses in Bakoteh, now called “Trust Bank House”.
She said “it was a decision made easy because through evidence of our own eyes, we saw happy, loved and well-adjusted children livingwithin a family set up that could be a secure of envy for many other people living even within their own families.
We know that a safe and secure home is essential for the physical, emotional, and mental health of every child and Trust Bank could not be prouder to be associated with this initiative.”
“While many of us grew up in loving families, orphans yearn to find that family to call their own. It is our fervent believe that this sponsorship deal we are launching today will have a far-reaching positive consequences on the lives of many orphans and resonate with our corporate social responsibility objective of “bringing hope where there is despair,” she said.
She concludes saying that “this house represents hope for the future. It is a symbol of our commitment to the well-being of these children and our dedication to building a better country for all.”
