Land Minster Urges Chiefs, Alkalos To Protect Their Community Lands
Honorable Sheriff Abba Sanyang, the Minister of Lands, Regional Government, Religious and NGO Affairs has urged Chiefs and heads of villages (Alkalos) of all regions to protect their homes and available lands for farming purposes and other future social needs.
He emphasized the need to reserving the lands which he said could be used for farming practice, constructions of homes, schools, and hospitals among others.
Minister Sanyang was speaking Saturday night at the joint meeting by Basse and Jimara Constituencies held at MankamangKunda, Upper River Region at the ongoing 2022 meet with the people tour with this year’s theme “together we can accelerate socio-economic growth and maintain peace and stability.”
However, the tour was also regarded by communities of Upper River Region as a great opportunity for their concerns been looked after by directly having to voice out their challenges and concerns though positive dialogue with the president.
Furthermore, since the tour began, Minister Sanyang has taken the opportunity to constantly engage chiefs and Alkalos through consecutive meetings in the various regions to remind them with pieces of advice to protect their homes, farm lands and bushes for future uses.
