IHTG launched In The Gambia

Impact Health The Gambia (IHTG) has officially been launched in the Gambia on Thursday at the Senegambia Beach Hotel in Kololi under the slogan “Innovate, adapt & sustain”
Impact Health the Gambia (IHTG), is a non-profit organization with a tax-exempt status (50Ic3) in the United States of America. The organisation’s primary objective is said to provide essential medical supplies to public hospitals in the Gambia with quality healthcare improvement consultations and facilitates training for mental health and addiction services.
Speaking at the occasion, Abdou Wahab Manjang, Founder and CEO of Impact Health the Gambia revealed that the organization has been in making for over a decade while came in existence last October, he noted that it has been a long journey leading to the launching event.
He said they are focused on providing basic medical supplies, providing quality improvement consultation services, offering seminars for mental health and addiction services.
As part of the NGO’s current activities, he revealed that they have partnered and provided medical supplies to the Kanifing General Hospital, to the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital, Bundung Maternal and Child hospital and the Gambia Armed Forces.
He said that they also provide support and coach healthcare administrators, process observation (Gambia), small scale medical services.
He recognized his parents’ efforts, noting that his parents raised him up to be a productive citizen, adding that his parents and brother, Mustapha Manjang who collectively supported him both morally and financially to able to achieve his goals.
He applauded his wife for her patience and sacrifice with support, with highlights that in every successful man, there must be a strong and supportive woman.
Babucarr Saine, Administrator of the Kanifing General Hospital and IHTG country representative said the organization exists to serve the nation, and everybody, regardless of any backgrounds, political affiliation and religion.
He confirmed that the organization’s objectives to be in line with the objectives of the Ministry of the Health and the heath sector.
He said that the Gambia health system to be facing a lot of challenges, but adding that the Ministry of Health and the health sector are doing a lot in improving health service delivery for improved health conditions in the nation.
For her part, Rohey Malick Lowe, Mayores of Banjul City Council, commended the Founder and CEO of IHTG for his efforts for choosing to work with the Gambia healthcare system, while giving its significance likewise its challenges, noting that they most try to overcome.
She noted that all African countries and across the world, saw the necessity of placing healthcare at the top of the development agenda.
