Gov’t To Electrify Over 200 Communities In URR

HIS Excellency, President Adama Barrow has given assurances that his government would provide electricity supply to over two hundred communities in the Upper River Region, in the coming years, in which 26 communities from Wulli West and 22 communities from Wulli East to benefit from the electrification.

President Barrow was speaking recently at a joint meeting by Wulli East, Weast and Sandou constituencies held at Kolibantang in URR as the 2022 meet with the people tour continues, with responses after similar concerns from various communities were raised which includes the need for water supply, schools, health centers likewise better with improved agricultural practice.

As it is in line with government’s objective to improving agricultural practice in the nation, President Barrow ensured women empowerment in gardening to prove huge farm produce

He further assured that the government will build skill training centers to all regions to ensure that graduates from those centers would not just be job seekers but employment creators.

Whilst other cattle rears complain of insufficient water for their animals which is badly affecting their livestock, Barrow responded with the provision of boreholes to communities of cattle rears.

However, from the various needs raised by all regions covered so far, this could certainly give the government a clue on how to solve issues raised as its objective was for government to know issues or challenges faced by Gambians across the regions.
