Gambia’s Female Musical Trio To Depart  For Oslo’s 37th Annual Cultural Week

Gambia’s female artists; Awa Gambia, Cess Ngom and Miss Jobiz are set to depart for the 37th annual cultural week in Oslo, Norway. The event will kick start on the 29th July to 5th August, 2023.


At a Press Conference on July 24th 2023 Organized by The Gambian Association in Oslo, Eboy Khan one of the members noted that the three invited artists to represent the Gambia are not the first ever invited to this event but there have been other people from various sectors not only in the music but in the cultural sector as well.

He disclosed that the organization was formed 37 years ago, and its objective was to bring Gambian people together under different circumstances as immigrants in the Diaspora.

“We have been taking some musicians to Oslo to showcase them, so that when they are on stage they wouldn’t just be heard but be recognized as well.“ He emphasized

For his part, the Manager of Awa Gambia, Ali Wally also said that this tour will represent the mileage which is going to boost the female artist’s music career ,make a new chapter for them with full  opportunities to grow and also give them the chance of connecting with their fans across the country.



“We are proud of our female artists, their handwork, commitment, determination and passion that they put in their work to propel them to higher height.” He noted

Cess Ngom, one of the artists thanked the organizers of the event for making her a part of this edition selection and said that this would mark as her debut international performance and she couldn’t be more excited.
