GAF Decorates Pre-deployment Course Personnel
The Gambia Armed Forces Training School on Thursday graduated and decorated personnel of GAF who attended a pre-deployment training courses with the British short term training team at Fajara Barracks Training School.
Speaking at the ceremony, YankubaDrammeh, Chief of Defense Staff of the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) told the graduates that it’s pride to service in uniform is the ultimate sacrifice that one can do for his country as it is what makes one an exceptional citizen.He there called for maintenance of peace and tranquility in the country to ensure the wellbeing of all Gambians and non-Gambians.

The CDS further noted that meaningful development cannot take place in the absence of peace and security, and thee he outlined that every Gambian has a role to play in the maintenance of tranquility in the Gambia. While he noted that GAF is aware that peace and security is a continuous process that must be pursuing at all times.
He informed the officers that “peace and security of this country is a precipitate for societal cohesion and sustainable national development.”
He noted that meaningful development cannot take place in the absence of peace and security, therefore, he said, every Gambian has a role to play in the maintenance of tranquility in this country. While noting that GAF is aware that peace and security is a continuous process that must be pursuing at all times.
CDS Drammeh advanced that he expects the trained personnel to do more than they are toughed as he believes that always what they have learned and when they are deployed, they are faced with scenarios to what they are taught will help them to adopt to any circumstances.
