Bansang General Hospital Generates D59.4 million in Revenue for 2020

The Bansang General Hospital Board and Management recently shared their financial statement and activity report for 2020 with the National Assembly Standing Committee on Finance and Public Accounts Committee (FPAC) on Monday. Isatou Ndimbalan, the Principal Accountant of the hospital, disclosed that the hospital generated a total revenue of D59,367,758.17 for the year.

The Principal Accountant of Bansang General Hospital, Isatou Ndimbalan further shared some key financial figures with the committee. She reported that the total expenditure for the year was D58,468,071.85, resulting in a surplus of D907,686.32. The hospital started the year with a negative balance of D420,805.99 but ended with a positive balance of D486,880.33.

Additionally, Dr. Masirending Njie, the Chief Executive Director, provided some insightful statistics. The hospital recorded 295 road accident cases, involving 571 victims. Out of these, 14 sadly passed away, 47 were treated as outpatients, 26 were admitted, and 7 were referred to Banjul.

The hospital also admitted 7,978 patients in total, with children accounting for 30.4% of the admissions and pregnant women making up 18.4%. The National Audit Office representative, Serign Mass Jallow, expressed satisfaction with the hospital’s financial statements, confirming their compliance with international accounting standards and the public sector finance act.

The FPAC committee decided to postpone the scrutiny, consideration, and adoption of the board and management’s presentation to a later date.
