Alieu Cham Continues Testimony In Voir Dire

Alieu Cham, the independent witness who was present at the Anti-Crime on the 15th September 2023 when Ousainou bojang’s voluntary statement was being taken appeared before Justice Jaiteh at the high court to continue with his testimony in the Voir Dire (mini trial)..

When the case was called, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) requested for  the cautionary statements of the accused, Ousainou Bojang, to be presented to the independent  witness Alieu Cham for identification purposes.

The witness confirmed the authenticity of the cautionary statements by confirming that it’s indeed  his number and thumbprint on the documents.

DPP  AM Yusuf  asked Alieu Cham that  besides the initial day when he witnessed statements being obtained from Ousainou, was he summoned again to witness another statement.

Aileu Cham replied with a yes, that  after five to seven days he was summoned again to the anti crime where he took a vehicle to the airport then proceeded to the police station where he entered an office where Ousainou was brought in, seated, and some papers were presented to him.

DPP AM Yusuf further asked him what happened to the papers, and Alieu replied that the charges were read to Ousainou, and Ebou Sowe asked him (Ousainou)  if he  agrees or disagrees to  the charges against him.

Alieu further added that Ousainou did not agree to any charges against him on that day as he (Alieu) confirms that there were more than three papers before them.

DPP AM Yusuf further asked Alieu if he had observed any physical violence committed against Ousainou to which he replied with a no.

The case was adjourned to February 26th when the first accused person, Ousainou Bojang, will commence his testimony in the voir dire.
